Recently, during an annual gearbox inspection for a large industrial customer, we found that two process-critical extruder gearboxes were in failure mode and needed to be rebuilt. A week-long January outage was scheduled for the rebuild. During our pre-planning, we were able to purchase the new parts required for the repair of the gearboxes ahead of the outage.
Thanks to our planning, we removed the gearboxes from service, transported them to our facility, rebuilt and reinstalled them within their timeframe of just seven days – thus preventing unplanned interruptions to their manufacturing.
